I am a New Member at Similar Worlds

Is it OK to "ghost?" When I'm PMing with someone, and I have to do something else, I always try to sign off by saying how much I enjoyed talking to them and that I have to go, so they don't wonder what happened. But I notice a lot of people just stop responding, so I'm wondering if that is acceptable. Because when it happens I assume they had to go and it's no big deal.

Considering that it is PMs or posts as opposed to a live chat connection and people are so different, here for different reasons and so much is going on I don't have problem with it as long as they come back at some point. If you have been messaging someone for a while and kind of get to know them at least to the extent you do online, if you are going to be gone for ever I think the polite thing to do would be to say so. But to ghost out of pm's is ok, no different than a longer pause between written letters if you were mailing them.
