My journey to being a Male Feminist against the Prison system.
Ohh boy, where to start. Well I always liked the magazine the Atlantic as someone who leans to the left side of the political spectrum even if as a Bernie supporter they did a few things that bothered me it was just like the whole overall thing about the magazine is they cover some really important stuff and their coverage often leads to positive change in the real world like they're exposing alcoholics anonymous doesn't work for everyone and there are viable alternatives that just aren't widely discussed enough, but I stumbled into a headline a few years ago from them that started me down a bit of a rabbit hole.

and then the Nation dropped this

And I began to teeter into flirting with Prison abolitionism feminism at that point and against the mainstream a sort of Anti-Carceral feminist even if male was starting to be born where I am not only a Feminist I now have a subtype I stand in solidarity with abolitionist and anti-carceral feminist.
but I wasn't yet fully ready to commit myself I was just you know.... at that point riding the fence not quite certain if It was time to fully take ethe plunge.
and then this dropped.

And that Mother Jones article was the proverbial straw that broke the Camel's back, There was no coming back from that. Even if I had wanted to resist the new current, I could no longer resist it. It was simply no longer in my hands whether I was an abolitionist femiinst or not, I was, whether I wanted to be or not.
Thralled, to this new Counter Current by all the new information.
I have some questions for women.
How can we trust the police to be the ones to protect women from domestic violence when we know the police are a huge source of violence against women even if it's an open secret and being treated as the elephant in the room/
and uh, Why does it feel like so few Female Writers, authors would tell us tales of women who were the victims of excessive force during arrest by the police?
and feminist speaking out against violence when it's violence, but the perp is an agent of the state?
or talking about women being abused by guards in the women's prisons?
where are all the voices condemning this stuff? and if I'm ... you know... overlooking something. Please. Do tell.
