Can we stop with the phrase “brought down by the #MeToo movement?” Abusers and predators and harassers are “brought down” by their own fucking actions. Framing perps as victims and ignoring the survivor-centered vision says more about your inability to acknowledge basic human rights. End of.

And I'm sorry but "the perp" Al Franken WAS a victim of #metoo. And the women demanding his ouster are the ones who will pay for it. They lost a champion of women's rights. Aziz Ansari was guilty until proven innocent based on the emotion of #metoo. That's not right. So while a whole lot of scumballs got what they deserved, it was a wide net. So I'm not sure if it's as cut and dry as you made it out to be.

Al Franken was a victim of the Democratic Party. They cannibalized him. Using him is not a good example. Just my opinion.

*The Republican Party would never do to him what the Dems did ... it was ridiculous.

@whippersnapper Hmmm...maybe. Seems to me that a Bush-supporting, conservative radio personality recognized the opportunity with #metoo and took full advantage. A handful of Democrats (not Pelosi) called for his resignation which, in my opinion, was motivated more by their personal goals than as a statement about what Democrats stand for. Franken blew it because he had the opportunity squelch emotion and focus on facts. But you're right, Republicans do not eat their own. No matter the situation. They live the "us vs. them" fight. Democrats just don't approach things the same way.
