I Am a Feminist

One thing that's often being heard when we have people over at home is "You're lucky you have girls to help you" directed at my mother by women who don't have girls of their own, usually followed by "You know how boys are" and things of that sort. It's needless to say that my mom is the one bringing things from the kitchen and serving and my dad sits there along with the guests and my sister and I are the ones to serve along with her. Sometimes women guests will help along. You'll also hear things like "Oh there are so many women here to do it all!". I once couldn't keep myself and said "I never realized we lift plates with our fallopian tubes".
It's so annoying to actually like these people but then they have this kind of attitude that can ruin it and I don't know how to feel about them all. One of the many reasons I cannot stand family gatherings 😂
