Oh yes, mostly as a child. Every now and again I'll make a big enough mistake that is worth being a life long lesson.

I still have a physical reaction to some thoughts, I tense up and grimace.

The worst is a memory of a house party when I was around 16. We were are falling asleep on the floor of the living room and I was spooning with a female friend who had engaged me in a flirt-a-thon throughout the party, I had my arms around her and she was holding my hand, so I thought... here goes... And I moved my hand to her hip and ran my fingers over her skin.

She sat bolt upright and left the room. As far as a 16 year old ego understood that situation she may as well have pointed at me and laughed :/

We were still friends for years after that and there weren't any long term consequences to it, but for some reason that one memory causes me such embarrassment.

Probably. I wouldn't be surprised if that does end up happening. You never really realize how cringe worthy you're being when you're actually doing it. Not in my experience, at least.
