How to contact the SW people?

I need to change something in my profile and I can't...I don't see any way to contact them. Is that deliberate?

I am not sure what are you saying about asking for passwords and information. We don't really ask for private information and we never ask for passwords.

@Fernie - like we said, we show age ranges, and that's how Similar Worlds (and Experience Project in the past) works.

As for the email issue, it is your computer that is asking for information, not us. You can send us an email to support@similarworlds.com if you want.

Hello,

Feel free to send me a message.

Thank you,
Nuno

The blue envelope is merely a link to open a new email. If your computer is configured to open these in Gmail and you're not logged in yet, you'll be asked to do so. It is not Similar Worlds asking you for your email password, but Gmail does that in order to compose a new email in your name.

Changing your age is possible without delay the first time. If you have to wait until the 24th, that means you have already changed it recently. The form warns you about the delay before saving: "Please make sure this information is correct. Once you save, the setting will be locked for some time." This lock is intended to prevent people from changing between fake identities to harass others.

I understand that you're not 69 and like I said, the site doesn't show that either. A lot of people would be furious if the site suddenly showed their specific age, so that's not going to change. But if you want other members to know your real age, you can include it in "About me" on your profile.

Ok, that sounds more like you didn't define an email client yet, so it is your computer asking what program/website and account to use to send an email.

And ages are displayed in ranges to provide extra anonymity. It doesn't say that you're 69, but between 61 and 69.

Gentle153 ...I appreciate you trying to help with this but...it is NOT Gmail asking me...it's SW.. her is what I get when I hit the blue envelope:
Choose an account...then the list to choose from..outlook,Exchange,Google,yahoo,iCloud, other...If I don't give them info and add a new account...I cannot go any further. I hate this.. I hate being forced to give information before I can contact the powers that be. That age thing is silly...you gave me a huge range of ages after I typed in my birthday... I AM NOT 69!!! Why do that? No other site does that with the age...you put in your birthday and BOOM there's your age. Never mind...thank you anyway
Fernie · F
I found a little blue envelope that said "contact us" I could not go any further unless I added another account...my gmail or yahoo, etc. I clicked on the add another account and was asked for my name and password to the other account...so I closed it. I just want to change my age in my profile...oh, wait...I just realized I have to wait until July 24th to do that...that is outrageous. I am NOT 69!!! Still I have no idea how to contact you

No problem at all. :)
What are you trying to change? They have a freeze on certain profile information and you can only change it once every 30 days.. Your username, gender, and age.

The other stuff you can change at any time
Fernie · F
The closest I got was to try to email them from the little blue envelope...next thing I know they want all my information including passwords of my other accounts...I don't think so!
Fernie · F
SW has my email account...otherwise why do I get notifications in my personal mailbox...why do they want another one?
Gentle153 · 36-40, MMod
You do not need to supply another one. You can send the email from the same email account as you registered your SW account with.
Fernie · F
Gentle153 ..I am NOT 69! Why can't SW just put your real age?? What is the point of such a big range?
LucyFuhr · 56-60, F
Why would anyone from SW ask for passwords from other sites?
Radical · 31-35
Yikes, dude... Yeah, that'd be a bad call.
Fernie · F
Lets forget it Gentle...thanks for trying.
Radical · 31-35
Email them, I guess?
