You can't upload them, you have to copy the image address.
On a computer:
Google what you want to post, right click on the image, and then click "Copy image address".
Then type: [image=PASTEURLHERE]
On a phone:
Google the image you want to post, click "View image", copy the URL from the address bar.
The type: [image=PASTEURLHERE]

@caccoon: This is pretty concise. To add to that, urls which don't end in .gif won't work and will need to be uploaded elsewhere to get a direct link from, such as imgur or another image host.
If your link isn't working and it doesn't end in .gif, just download it then upload it from your device onto your image host of choice and then go through the same steps. This will also mean that if you are using an image host with album functions, like imgur or photobucket or whatever, you will have it stored in your albums for easy future reference.

It's the URL your using that's bad. It needs to end in .gif
