Why were guns invented and did the person not mind all the deaths that would come with the invention ?

@Tminus6453: Cars were designed to make people's life easier.Instead of taking hours or days to get somewhere cars and vans a what you call progress.The deaths were they are involved are usualy because of human error and are accidents.
Guns, on the other hand, serve the purpose of either killing or injuring badly.

@Pureblossom: It doesnt matter, people still use cars for killing people, especially muslim terrorist, and knives too...Guns dont kill, people do and guns were invented for protection and hunting,and if i didnt have my gun 5 months ago i could have been killed by the asshole who tried breaking into my house

Well, the protection side I don't disagree with as I have grown older I've realized that even though most anything could be used for self-defense guns give you a better chance.
however, that still lives this question unanswered, which what I was really curious about.Since mankind tends to end up feeling guilty even just a little for harmful actions whether justified or not.
