Holding a grudge, in terms of remaining angry, is not a good idea; it can poison your life and thinking. But as far as retaining awareness, I believe that it's generally best to keep a red flag out when it comes to some people and situations. In other words, the answer to the question about how long to hold a "grudge" is...as long as they're still dangerous.
