For those of you in the US, does 4th of July start in mid June as it does here in Los Angeles with fireworks going off every night all around the cit

The vast majority of it is just fireworks, but some of it is definitely idiots shooting guns into the air. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between firecrackers and gun fire once see and hear them side-by-side. :-)

True story... here, not quite a gated community.. surrounding a lake.. someone fired off a round... What goes up comes down... A dad was walking his son back to the car... after watching the fireworks display.. and that round came down smack dab in the middle of the kids head.. Dead on the spot... Shooter never found..

I guess it really depends on where in Los Angeles you live.
