Why is it hard to make friends?

So, why's it hard to make friends? I'm young/ish still and i think it's because everyone has grown up together and because i moved around i lack social skills and never settled. The place we did settle, i had lots of mates and was accepted. Why do i find it hard to make connections? Do other people find that? I can confidently talk to someone at a bus stop or train, but at work or in the pub, it's difficult...

I get you about the talking to people easily in certain surroundings and not others. So, my best advice is to concentrate your friend making efforts where and when you can. Be a good mate and people'll want to be mates with you. It's a two way street.
@PeanutsauntieP1982: Thanks, true...I just see groups of people all the time, like when i go pub and I'm on my own. I wanna talk to people. I'm going to make a routine at the weekend i think
i can make friends easy its just keeping them thats the problem for me
@Solitudebluebell i have my own company and apart from the lack of a woman i do ok
Ah fair enough, well try and get yourself a career or social worker, also, get some helpline numbers that can put you in touch with people in ya local area
@Solitudebluebell i am 59 i have been like this since i was a child i am ok

same.. i have no friends. I've come to terms with it.
@MartinTheFirst: I think it's a shame tho. I'm sure we both got something to offer. We just need to get out our comfort zone i think...I'm a sociable person, i don't wanna be a loner for longer than i already have been...
