@MikefromEP: because each personality might not actually be perceptive.
For others it gives an insight into different type of people there are. But usually those with multiple personalities are never the same personality at the same time so lessons that can be learned aren't. And it often makes them self contained and insular.

@Justlilyg: Multiple Personalities DO hear though... the problem is the ONE controlling the personal's gives freedom to a specific action
