Is there anyone out there who often prefers not to defend themselves when attacked ?

I mean verbally. It could be from an awareness that one is over-sensitive, a strong dislike of hostility, a determination not to descend to that level, or what some would call cowardice - although I'd defend someone I loved being attacked.

I think there are times when it's worth making your voice heard. And others when you can see that the person doing the attacking actually gets off on you trying to defend yourself!
Like it emboldens them more!
With age, comes experience!
And you get to figure out that all they want is the opportunity to dump all their fear. All their hatred on to you!
Make, how they feel, your fault!!
These people have a thought process missing!
No matter WHAT you say. WHAT you do.
It'll never satisfy them!!
The trick is to spot them; make your point; let them know THEY are the one with a problem. Then try and leave the situation.
Otherwise if you try to descend to their level of thought. That's TWO frustrated individuals!
