So someone told me that all monogamous people are jealous and possessive.
What would you say in this instance?

That's not necessarily true. A lot of monogamous people are very secure in their relationships. Meanwhile, there are also a lot of polyamorous relationships in which one or more of the people involved are extremely possessive and get jealous when one of their partners gets involved with someone else, even though that's kinda the point of the relationship in the first place.
