Why do people care so much about flags?

I do not know the histor behind other flags or how to observe proper etiquette of them. But I know the American flag.

The American flag is a representation of the good times and the bad. It represents the men and women that have died or passed away to build a country.

Like America has the tomb of the unknown soldier, as a representation of all the men and women that have fought for America and died a death we may never know. Respecting a flag of any country is a way to pay respect to those who came before us.

Blatant disregard of showing respect for a flag should be a federal offense.

@Smtwn829: Go to jail for disrespecting cloth.
@thatscottishguy: Lol, basically. But disrespecting people is supported by our First Amendment. 😉

I find your country confusing at times 😂.

@thatscottishguy: right now in Europe people are getting arrested and put in jail for questioning a religion. I find that weird. Go to jail for disrespecting paper and words.

Please show me an example of one person going to jail just for questioning a religion.
