Internet Comment Etiquette, does it exist?

So I stumble across a lot of comments/feedback on many post, even mine. And at times I think to myself "My goodness, even if the comment is true to the person who posted it... is it even necessary? Did the person even think about if what they posted was kind or not?"

I learn that not everything that is in my mind needs to be verbalized or typed out because even if it may be true to me. I actually think about the other person and whether or not if what I might comment is necessary or kind.Like the saying goes "Think before you speak." Now it should be "Think before you type." :D

I'm screaming the same thing!!! I thought I would never find someone who agrees with me here.

Well put, too.

Drives me crazy how most questions go unanswered because everyone just wants to say untrue, unnecessary, and unkind things.

@InvaderNice: so, how do u know why qs go unanswered?
OpalFlower · 31-35, F
@InvaderNice: Well I can relate to that not too long ago I asked a question and got 3 comments that didn't really answer my question. It was more of a critique on how my post was too long instead of focusing on the purpose of my post and the question.

@InvaderNice: I don't know if this one user read my whole post but she actually answered my question and I had to apologize for my post being so long but thanked her for reading it while I deleted or ignored the other unnecessary comments.

@OpalFlower: understood, but when the qs are unclear, they can not be properly answered, so clarity is important!

Well with that said if anything the commenters can easily ask for clarification in order to answer the question or just not bother with answering at all (shruggs)
