Maybe. Ignorance is bliss. It does impede tolerance though.

@arcobaleno: True, but tolerance has limits also.

@Dreammmer: Well it really depends on the situation, if one is being harrassed, then I'm all for blocking (and reporting). But blocking because they have a difference of opinion? I don't understand that. Even if someone is being rude about it, I don't block them.

@arcobaleno: My experience is that the decision to block a user is based on a situation, there are no guidelines in my book I consult first. I say right now that I block those where I have the impression that they derive satisfaction from fighting against me, my faith, or making things ridiculous that are important to me. I often think that some people here have unresolved issues and I am not here to offer myself as a scapegoat.

@Dreammmer: Well when there are so many people with different beliefs in the world, there is always going to be a clash. I understand that some people just don't want to listen to a different opinion, though, so yeah those people can be annoying. But I learn to tune them out... I mean if they want to be assholes on my posts it says more about them than me, really. I just don't want to live in an echo chamber. I like the diversity.

But anyway, that's my opinion. :)

@arcobaleno: I also like the diversity. That is why I am here. And I like your attitude and how you think.
