the only area where they can come in conflict is the topic of origin of the universe... and some old book doesnt really stand a chance vs the scientific method there

@DrH69: we can look back in time... basically all astronomy is a journey back in time, we dont see other galaxies how they are now but how they used to be millions of years ago

@DrH69: we have a pretty solid knowledge about the origin of the universe... the real problem is is that the universe is older then time itself...

yes that sounds weird but consider the idea that time is a concept that only exists inside the universe..

@DrH69: the concept of time is linked to entropy, but there is a "infinite" possibility of existence in a singularity without any entropy.

trying to explain this is very hard as our language lacks words for a concept that is quite irrational for us to accept.. even more so if its not your native tongue

@DrH69: well.. how does this god tell us ?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@DrH69:
God created us and everything that exists
What do you base that hypothesis on? Do you have any empirical evidence to support it?

@DrH69: you cant just claim nonsense...

@DrH69: That's obvious but what do you base your hypothesis that "god created everything" on? Why couldn't it have been the Flying Spaghetti Monster for example?
RedWidow · 36-40, F
@DrH69: its nonsensical to claim a god made me... why not a unicorn ? or maybe a dragon.... proof me that it isnt the case
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@DrH69:
God tells us he created us.
When? Where? I wasn't informed.

@DrH69: well if i am created... so are you.. and so is every other human being...

and now look at humanity... how we abuse our lifespace.. how we kill and surpress each other... sure only an idiot or a sadist would create humans like we are
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@DrH69:
...you have a Creator who created you.
@DrH69: what kind of god is that ? clearly he doesnt care about us then. and on judgement he suddenly get anger issues and all this talk about mercy turns out to be a joke ?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@DrH69: Thare are other explanations that do not rely on mythical beings. If your hypothesis were correct, you would still have to explain where that creator came from. It's no different from explaining the origin of the universe.
