馃槬Hell yeah...3 days drinking nothing but water and coffee, hot/cold flashes and shakier than a vibrator! Guts felt like they were being squeezed like a lemon! It was Hell!

@Spitbak: Truth.

@Spitbak:

You experienced a hangover, not alcohol poisoning. There is a very vast difference.
Spitbak56-60, M
Define please! To give you an idea on how much I drank, try 3 24s of 6% alcohol beers along 1 and half sixty pounders of CC whiskey Rye along with some mixed drinks called Frankensteiners which consisted of vodka, tequila, rum and gin! I drank 11 of them where most people could only max at 3 or maybe 4 to 5 of them! And add more beers to that! What did YOU drink?@swirlie:
Spitbak56-60, M
馃槦And that was all within a 2 day period BTW!@Spitbak:

@Spitbak:

I don't drink alcohol at all!
Spitbak56-60, M
馃槈Case closed! Alcohol affects people in different ways! @swirlie:

@Spitbak:

Case is not closed, Spitbak! You do not understand the difference between alcohol poisoning and a hangover.

Do you know 'why' you get a hangover when alcohol is consumed?
Spitbak56-60, M
馃槦I do know it's the amount of alcohol content consumed! Technically, I would have been declared clinically dead! A doctor already gave me the heads up sweets, and this case IS closed!@swirlie:

@Spitbak:

You did not have alcohol poisoning Spitbak! If you did, you would have been hospitalized and been hydrated artificially through intravenous for approximately 2 weeks as you lied in bed, unable to walk without assistance.
Spitbak56-60, M
馃槦Again, for the last time, alcohol has different effects on different people...period! I was sick to death in bed for three days without all that hospital crap hooked into me! Some can handle it and some cannot! That's just the way it is! If you listen to all the bullshit studies from some stupid text book, I can't help you there! I live in a world where people work their asses off to get their next Heroin fix! Come to work after getting the piss beat out of them with bruised or cracked ribs and busted up faces! I live in a world you have no clue about honey! I'm DONE with this topic! CASE CLOSED!@swirlie:

I will answer my own question which I asked of you a few posts back.

The reason you get a hangover when you consume alcohol, is NOT because of the amount of alcohol you drank. It is because your red blood cells become coated with alcohol which then PREVENTS your red blood cells from absorbing oxygen when you breathe.

The reason you would get drunk is because of a condition known as hypoxia, which is a lack of oxygen in the blood, hence a lack of oxygen flowing to the brain.

When we pass out from being too drunk, it is because our body is purposely shutting itself down because of an acute lack of oxygen in the blood, not because there is too much alcohol in your system. The more alcohol you consume, the greater number of red blood cells there are that become affected.

If you were in an airplane at 35,000 feet and you experienced a rapid depressurization and you never put on your oxygen mask, you would be completely unconscious in 15 seconds. That is not an estimate, that is a known fact. This is because there is an immediate loss of oxygen to 100% of your red blood cells, immediately.

Alcohol does exactly the same thing, but takes proportionately longer than hypoxia induced from high altitude oxygen loss.

When you begin to sober up, it is because the alcohol is being processed by the liver, which means that it is being stripped from the red blood cells, thus allowing oxygen to be absorbed into the blood as it normally would happen.

馃榿Well thank you for that Dr. Swirlie! Nice to see the text book study! Doesn't change what a doctor had already told me and the fact that everyone has different chemical reactions to different toxins not to mention the immune system! I just agree and call it a hangover if you like...but I'm done!@swirlie:

You are deluding yourself as you pretend to everyone here that you have experienced alcohol poisoning, Spitbak.

You are a sensationalist, a drunk and quite frankly a circus clown.

Getting shit-faced is not cool, Spitbak. It is the occupation of those who consider themselves 'unworthy'.

You only like to pretend that you cross that line regularly, between being simply drunk and being poisoned because it makes you feel very special among your peer group.

You need to get yourself a life at this very late starting point in your existence here on this earth and you also need to get yourself educated about booze, Spitbak. You really are quite a dumb-shit at the end of the day! Has anyone ever brought that to your attention before?

If you were 20, I would grant you an excuse. But somebody who has more years behind them than what they clearly have ahead of them, yet still gets impressed just like a teenager by how much he can drink, has completely missed the boat in life. You were left behind at the dock very long ago, my friend!

Somebody needed to tell you that I guess, because your drinking buddies are no more competent than you are to make that distinction for you.

馃槦Whatever doc, have a good night!@swirlie:
