My friends seem to respect me since I'm blunt/straightfoward. Is that good?

I thought blunt was rude. When I get asked for an honest opinion, I try my best to tell them. I'm not rude, I just tell it like it is. I don't sugarcoat the truth. My best friends respect me and love that I tell them off when they are being idiots and even to me when I'm being an idiot. My other "friends" got mad at me when THEY asked for the truth. I lost a lot of friends because I was honest and upfront. THEY asked me. I was respectful about it. I guess they have been living so lie and expect people to sweeten up tgecteitg or lie. Nope not me! I will not sweeten the truth and talk to them like 5 year old. I will treat them like an adult and tell it like it is. Is that bad?

I respect that more then a winer or liar
@ECHO22: Yeah. Sorry but I cannot lie to make someone happy at all. They will get hurt more.
with you there!
@ECHO22: what's suppose mean? I didn't mean I don't wanan hurt them with a lie.
I understood what you meant. I agree it would make it worse by lying instead of just being up front and telling them the truth
@ECHO22: Ahh okay. Yeah. I mean my best friends rather hear the brutal truth that makes them cry than sugarcoat to make them happy.
exactly.. tough love is respected more then coddling
@ECHO22: No shit. My parents didn't coddle me and I'm glad they didn't. I'm not going to coddle my best friends either and they love me for it.
That's good, makes everyone's life much easier
@ECHO22: Amen! :)
