7.My target audience for this essay is an academic audience consisting of educators, students, and others in the academic community who have an interest in media or Steampunk. This essay educates on the levels of portrayal the subculture gets in the media.
8.This essay is to show examples of different views media has and how Steampunk is shown as a subculture. The audience should think about how fair the portrayals might be, and look at the insights each example shows in order to conclude how they view the subculture from a fairer perspective. The audience will also see the difference between an example from mainstream media and from other media types such as an article from an academic journal.
