Do you think there's a difference between hiding things and being private?

Being a private person doesn't necessarily mean hiding. Some just like to keep certain elements of their lives private. Significant others should respect that.

Respect'n your own, and other people's, boundary between public and private is good manners....friendly like.

Hide'n things, that will make a significant impact in you relationship, is manipulative and duplicitous behavior that only causes sad times.
