I t is a common factor across the world but what do u think is the prime reason for it being their in the first place?

I'd say rumours of it have been pretty inflated in the Western world, with crazy stats like "1-in-4 college women will be sexually assaulted" being blindly accepted without stopping to consider if that actually makes sense.
