@Wilbury: No, actually. There's been some studies done that show it to be genuinely good for a handful of medical applications. Chief among them was blood sugar control in diabetics, though there's also some promise in fat loss. Though there's definitely more testing that needs to be done, it would be wrong to call it complete quackery.
