Why is popcorn so expensive at movies theater's

They're so in hock. Figure the overhead costs of a multiplex. Especially in a mall at premium per square foot leasing rates. Theaters often only filled to 10% capacity. The hollywood fees to be high up the list in theater distribution and for permission to show for protracted time periods. 🤔

Or maybe they're still recovering their losses from when theaters were big rooms stuffed to the gills before TV was invented, and they charged a nickle a seat and gave you a piece of depression glass pie plate or dinnerware back in he 1930s.

It was kinda long ago though. Those big people who told me I was their kid said I wasn't born until years later. When it only costed 50 cents to go, but I'm only going on what I was told. How much is it anyway? A hundred bucks? I haven't gone to one of those in a coons age.
