No. Would you view someone in real life that didn't want to have a conversation with you through a microphone connected to a loud speaker in a public space as sneaky?

I do understand your point, but I liken it to someone in real life who would only talk to you when no one else is around, never when others might see the two of you interacting.

@Lisette: thanks for understanding. But the conversations you have with friends, would you want them all broadcasted to the rest of the world? Of course we all find it annoying when either someone with no profile picture messages you out of the blue with a dick pick or something, or a woman seeking attention posts provocative pictures for attention with no intention of having a good conversation. But I think people in general should be more friendly, have conversations with new people, pm or public, that the point of the site. Even your best friends were strangers until you spoke to them. The people that message you could turn out to be pretty damn awesome, I've met some awesome people I myself work with an ambulance service and teach piano and I like to think that's awesome. But most people just want to shut off. If we don't act in a friendly way, it will create a vacuum in which we just get extremes, a load of randomers with no profile picture sending you dick picks, and women posting scantily dressed pictures with no intention of decent pictures, and very few in between. I've seen sites devolve like this
