How hard is it to get a doctors appointment where you are ?

馃嚞馃嚙 My surgery has a 'policy'.
If you need to arrange to see a doctor. You have to call at 8am.
Where you then sit in a queue of others awaiting the same thing.
When you finally get answered you tell the minion at the other end the specifics.
You need to see a particular doctor regarding an ongoing condition.
They then tell you that they can only book appointments for the following day, and that tomorrow is fully booked !.........Ten minutes after opening ???
They then politely suggest you telephone same time tomorrow.
I know there's a 'war' going on between hospitals and G.P's re: funding.
And that there are far fewer G.P's because of it. But in a town full of the elderly and kids, do you then travel twenty miles to get seen at the nearest A & E knowing that you may well have to wait 6 hours. But at least you will be seen that day ?

We call around 8am, the doctor then calls you back and decides whether he should see you or you can see a nurse etc. You can prebook appointments in advance but obviously the popular doctors get booked up quickly. You can usually see a doctor the same day that you call. We are lucky..... probably because it's a village surgery.

Haha like that tv show, Doc Martin, which I love.

@cherokeepatti: Yes only his ears aren't as big as Martin Clunes.

i have been chatting to lots of folk and they all seem to conclude our surgery isn't the most efficient !

@Picklebobble2: Is it a town surgery? Friends that live in towns, don't tend to get the same service.

@pennynoodles: The only one for about five miles according to my research.
