Is it safe to post real personal embarrassing things here or will people make fun of me if I do?

If they are embarrassing, they likely will make it worse. They are anonymous. Therefore they think they have freedom to post ignorance at will.

Find a friend you can talk to. Keep the real personal stuff out of the public chats
