Is it safe to post real personal embarrassing things here or will people make fun of me if I do?

You always run the risk of having those that aren't very nice hurting you. There is also a lot of good as well. If you can understand that not all are nice and it will be cathartic for you to write it out then do so. You can always delete it later.
