@kingfish2: yep. And fairly recently too. My mom grew up in a house with no running water. I can remember when they installed the bathroom in my grandmother's house in the early 80's.

@ProdigalSummer: Many people don't realize how good they have it.

@kingfish2: its one of the reasons I make sure to take my kids out where those things aren't available. Of course we get in some really great family time, but they also see that life isn't centered around modern technologies. There's so much more to explore out there in the big wide world.
