I would tell them that they are a lovely person to know, and find something to compliment them about.
I had a pretty ugly friend when I was 19. (She was about 10-15 years older than me), and she taught me that true beauty is always within. She was a thalidomide baby, so she had some pretty severe deformities, but I learned also from her that you don't have to let deformities hold you back, sometimes you just have to find a different way to do things. So...ever since my friendship with Vee, I have found it hard to judge people as physically ugly...who'm I to judge?
