immortality
popmol · 22-25, M
why would you do?
SW-User
I'm sure it would be fun for the first 100 million years or so, but then I'd start to hate every moment of it. I don't want to be this forever.
popmol · 22-25, M
@crossproduct: but a long time?
SW-User
@popmol: but that's not immortality. I wouldn't mind more time (and especially more time in good health), but the idea of continuing to exist forever is horrifying.
popmol · 22-25, M
but i don't understand why people don't want immortality but want to go to heaven.
SW-User
well me neither, I don't get this "heaven" concept
popmol · 22-25, M
@crossproduct: aah ok well then at least your not a hypocrite :)
SW-User
@popmol: I don't have a problem with not existing, I didn't exist for 14 billion years and it was okay. You didn't exist when I was in university but you weren't hurting and I was.
popmol · 22-25, M
@crossproduct: hurting miss? well i completely understand we are suddenly here and then we are gone.
SW-User
@popmol: I just don't think it's the terrible thing that others do. Finite life means finite suffering and that's really a blessing.
popmol · 22-25, M
@crossproduct: yeah, i think the only reason they have to not have immortality is becasue you have more suffering but in heave n it would be without suffering.
SW-User
I think "heaven" is just something someone made up.
popmol · 22-25, M
@crossproduct: yeah i think its an idea to not be in a constant fear of death.

but now heaven is something everyone can go to if you just believe.
while in the past you couldn't go there like with the Greeks. or you would work hard like the vikings
