Is there a strong, positive correlation between levels of literacy and earning capabilities?

Although this doesn't necessarily mean highly literate people are super wealthy, it does appear to suggest people with higher education tend to have greater success in life.

Probably. People with more money have a much easier time of educating themselves

That's very true, but usually educated people will encourage their children to follow the same path. You don't have to be wealthy to be educated.
