Yep. Happened in 2007. Hard to believe its been almost a decade...and if I had to go through the afterward part again, I'm not certain I could.

Been there, done that! No fun at all!

@NotYetTooOld: You know EXACTLY what I mean then when I say it's a bit of hell. I was awake 30 minutes of a 45 minute surgery for an arthroscopic surgery on my left knee. The first Awareness survivor I met had been through FIVE surgeries awake. It horrified me, and she made me meke a promise to her to never shut up what happened to me, to educate myself and others about Unintended Intra-Operative Awareness, AKA-Anesthesia Awareness, and to search for other survivors so they know they're not alone. Now that you mention drowing. I came across that one of my fears is not having been able to breath.

It's one of mine as well. I'm not afraid of most things, but that's one of them.
