There is a movement going on right now in the US and the world abroad. 😐☺

There are rumblings of a movement. A movement requires a vision, a purpose. If the only purpose is to dump on Trump, the movement will go nowhere.

People unite around a vision. That vision has to give people purpose, a hope, a common ideal if you will. If this 'movement' a you call it is just 'let's get Trump out of there, well let's remember it was his movement that put him in there, and his followers, and even GOP voters generally are still with him, and very much so.

The Democrats don't even have a standard bearer yet to rally around, never mind a purpose for doing so.

Hopefully, by the end of this year, there will be someone worthy of standing behind, who can take a clear message of several points to the people, and take Trump on. And taking on Trump means that person has to know how to FIGHT. Trump demolished how many professional career politicians, emasculating them, and they left their balls on the stage of the debates. Not one of them belonged on the same stage as him, and he was lying, manipulative, mysogenistic, xenophobic, sexist, disrespectful to so many, and worse.

The Democrats need fresh blood, and are currently served in the House and Senate by leaders over 70 who are long passed their best-buy due dates. They need fresh ideas, fresh blood, an inspiring leader, and a message that resonates.

If their only message is Not Trump, you can ABSOLUTELY COUNT ON TRUMP FOR EIGHT YEARS.

Trump attracted THOUSANDS of voters several times a day to RALLIES in stadiums and arenas.

The Democrats were out there speaking to a 100 or a few hundred, with the exception of Bernie Sanders.

Trump gets television, he gets marketing, and he gets his own power of attraction.

If the Democrats propose someone like Tim Kaine who tried to smile and be kind his way into power, the Democrats will attend their own funerals.

They are in the worst place with regard to having power than since 1928, and have re-elected leaders who have no clue how to move them forward.

@CassandraFemale17: damn girl. you're good. i couldn't have put it better myself
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@room101: I am a political junkie. Lol. With an eye on where politics drives economics. If I wasn't going into my family's business, I would like to go into public policy....but business is my first love
room101 · 51-55, M
@CassandraFemale17: with the brain and ability to coherently express yourself that you've displayed thus far, your families business is in great hands
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@room101: lol, I hope so. I love working with my Dad, and have been at his Business meetings since I was tiny, building Lego on the floor with my brother as they worked. As I got older I would listen in, and then ask my Dad a ton of questions afterward.
room101 · 51-55, M
@CassandraFemale17: can i ask, what sort of business is it?
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@CassandraFemale17: Politics goes in cycles. The Dems have had control for over 30 years. Trumps weakness will become their strength And even if he gets in after 8 years he may blunder. And that will lead to another Democratic victory in 2020.
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@room101: you can ask, but as I have already said many times where I grew up, I would rather not answer. It wouldn't take more than a few clicks to find my family and businesses online. And even tho you might be the safest person ever, you don't reflect all the messages and posts I receive
room101 · 51-55, M
@CassandraFemale17: i completely understand. sorry if i overstepped
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@Zonuss: you are absolutely right. 100%

But the Dems still need a standard bearer, and they like to be safe.

Obama was brought to power by the people. Not by his party who were ready to treat Hillary toma Coronation. Twice.

Where is the new Obama, the new RFK, the new King.....to forge a path people can actually believe in, and follow.
Anger isn't enough, and tides to turn as you have so rightly pointed out. But sometimes those tides flood, and the waters stay a long time before ebbing, or drying. As you rightly said, the Dems had 30 years of power, and have had Congressional power far more than the GOP the last 100 years.

But......... they have to find a leader with a vision, a voice, and with whose values can command the attentions and has the wherewithal to sweep the people into volunteering, into believing, and into propelling that vision into the halls of power again.

I hate to say this. It chokes me. But the Dems deserved this loss.

@room101: you haven't overstepped a bit. I just have to be careful. And that is not a reflection of you at all
room101 · 51-55, M
@CassandraFemale17: it's cool. i'm just as cautious myself. i know that sometimes my curiosity makes me ask too much
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@room101: it's all good.
