It is basic manners and polite behavior. I was raised not only for women but for elderly and handicapped as well. I will also hold for men if it is convenient and helps move everything along. I am never one to be rude and just cut anyone off. At least not intentionally.

I open doors for people regardless of sex. Now if I'm in a relationship with someone I try to do it more often for her.
