Metric falls apart when we start to move between weights, mass and energy
The tables we always need are never in a metric form we can use ... so, it just wastes time.
Barrels relate to gallons which relate to BTUs ... which relate to degrees ... which go into formulas built for BTUs, degrees F, HP, feet, lift and pressures (psi)
It is a waste to translate it into liters, joules ...etc ... unless the tables use those measures.
