Is it ok to hit someone if they hit you?
My sister and i were arguing and she hit me so i hit her back but she made a really big deal about it and started crying

It's the first impulse to hit back. But basically, most people who hit have not developed emotional maturity, and can't resolve conflict rationally, reasonably, and respectfully.
It's a failure of parenting in many cases, as a lot of parents have no idea too how to resolve conflicts respectfully themselves
