Might be that the only way they could get insurance was if they had one present.

I already have insurance though usa bmx all they need is a statement from track operator proving the injury was at track during a event if I get hurt

Insurance doesn't help much if you have a rough landing on top of your peg.

I race bmx the racing bikes don't have pegs or back break and there lighter then the free style bikes
