What conspiracies do you find interesting or do you think have merit?

Are there any conspiracies that you believe in?

The MLK assasination involving more than James Earl Ray.
The Russian hackers and James Comey's 11th hour "announcement" being part of a conspiracy that changed the outcome of the election.
What about Russian hackers?

I haven't heard to many theories about MLK, what do you think happened there?

You think that Clinton influence changed the FBI investigation results?
@MarsSword: I answered the question, not with the intention of getting into an argument. Trump challenged the Russians to hack Clinton's emails, and the next thing anyone knew, they had. Comey, a Republican, made the announcement, while people were still voting, that they had reopened the issue of the emails, just to come back later and say that there were no changes in their original assessment. James Earl Ray insisted that he had been hired to assasinate King by others, possibly with reaches into the government and intelligence community (J. Edgar Hoover, who hated the man?) and by the time Ray died, the King family believed him.
@bijouxbroussard: Oh I am not trying to argue. I am just curious. I won't argue with people here for or against conspiracies. I am just bored and wish to further the conversation by asking questions.

All those examples have some merit to them. What do you think of the email assessment?

James Earl Ray could well have been hired... He could also have gotten into hot water due to his own hate and tried to spread some blame. We may never know but it is certainly interesting to consider.

@bijouxbroussard: @MarsSword:

Mars -- I love this topic, but let's remember what a "conspiracy" is versus individual acts.

Bij -- Comey should be in jail for what he did. No doubt about that. But I doubt very much that he conspired with anyone about it. I think he was politically motivated and went and did it. I hope actions like that are illegal, but I don't know.

Clinton's emails didn't get hacked at all. The emails that were hacked were from the DNC and other Dem officials. And when Trump sarcastically called for Russian help to find Clinton's missing emails, her server had already been taken down and dismantled.

As for MLK & Ray ... there's a lot more going on there and I don't think we will ever know. But for sure, of these three examples, this is the one I truly do believe was a "conspiracy" of the highest order.
@sarabee1995: What would be illegal about what Comey did? Did they not reopen the case, did he say anything false? I am not making a judgement call here, I actually don't know.

I do agree the actions of a single person aren't deep enough to be a conspiracy, but what pushed them from behind is the question...

I should hope you like conspiracy hunting and dismantling Sarabee, what with your career choices...

@MarsSword: Well, as I said, I hope his actions were illegal. I wouldn't want our elected officials to reveal investigations that have not yet resulted in any indictments. And to do so to a candidate immediately before an election should be illegal.

By definition the actions of any single person are not a "conspiracy"! (Unless, I suppose, there were multiple personalities involved conspiring with each other! 😁)

Lol yup.

@MarsSword: The King case has already been adjudicated and decided in a court of law. It is no longer a matter of speculation. The CIA has admitted to hiring someone who arranged the assassinatiin of King. Ray was the patsy set up to take the blame. Ray always told the King family and others that he didn't do it. The settlement of the civil suit brought by the King family against the CIA can be found if you Google Martin Luther King Civil Suit and the papers pertaining to it are on the CIA website.

@greenmountaingal: Yes, but do you really think we know all there is to know about that one?
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@sarabee1995: No, of course not. History will reveal more and no one will ever know it all. But the basic facts have been established and King's assassin was not Ray but a CIA paid asset.

@Challenger1 This has been adjudicated in court. The CIA settled a lawsuit with the King family. The CIA admitted they hired someone who used Ray as a patsy in the King assassination and that someone killed King. This is not a "conspiracy theory." It was a conspiracy and is now considered historical fact by most historians..
