@Nimbus: They're not considered commercial enough to grow. But these plums make incredible plum jams and jellies. It is currently impossible for a shopper to acquire Damson plums.

@Peaches: Actually, Damson plums taste like damp cardboard if eaten fresh...they are not really very good to eat. But when you heat them to make jams, jellies and syrups, or to can the plums, they turn a rich deep purple red color and the incredible unique sweet flavor emerges. They are the best for jelly and jam and syrup.
