This is the second house I've purchased. The first one, was a catastrophe and I had a representative, so I thought I'd go it alone this time. End result? When it was all said and done, at closing, I had $41k in equity. I'm not sure I could ever do that again. It was just the perfect setup.

It was all networking. I was very vocal about looking for a new home. So anyone I knew, when they heard of people being interested in selling, they'd tell me about it.
