Being moved to tears by the kindness of others, harmless humour, having my opinion truly valued, helping somebody for no reason, reaping the rewards of hard work, catching up with an old friend, flirting. Happiness is easily confused with other emotions, it's difficult to isolate the things which really make us happy. And by its very definition, it needs to be preceded and followed by sadness to be felt.
