What motivated you to get out of bed today?

What kinds of dogs?

A mini Dachshund, mini Schnauzer and a big Red Heeler mix. The two little ones were rescues and the heeler I took from a woman whose hubby committed suicide and she couldn't keep. I always adopt either rescues or from shelter. They are the joy of my life.

Awww. I have three as well. A Pyrenees/Labrador, a Pug/Dachshund, and a Jack Russell cross. The last we just adopted through a rescue society this past summer. Total sweetheart, although he was badly abused and it's taking a long time to learn not to be scared of men.

@TyphoidJerry: Aww, poor baby. I know what you mean. Once they are abused it takes an awful lot of love and they never completely get over it. My Schnauzer was horribly abused. Some boys tried to crop her ears. She cannot be anywhere near kids. Breaks my heart.

That's horrifying! Glad she's with a good home. Our terrier absolutely adores me if I'm sitting down or lying down, but if I stand he avoids me like the plague and I can't raise my voice or hold anything that looks like a stick around him without him panicking.

Oh bless his heart. all They want is to be loved and it breaks my heart that some people mistreat them.

Yeah absolutely. He's working through his trauma though and he is glued to my wife's side at all times and adores her. So he's a happy boy. This is him singing barbershop with the Lab/Pyreneese.

@TyphoidJerry: OMG Jerry, I love that. MY Heeler and Schnauzer sing a duet sometimes but they don't sit that close. Adorable.
