Do tattoos hurt?

they feel like a bad sunburn. The pain goes away in about a day...or less. i say this from experience...i have more than ten tattoos and have plans for several more. it will hurt worse if done on top of a bone such as ankles, ribs, hands, etc.

Yeah it does hurt, some body parts and designs more than others, but shouldn't last more than a day. Getting a tattoos is a personal experience and everybody's pain threshold is different. But again it shouldn't be a lingering pain

@EmilyAstromsfuturehusband: only a fool would get it done on the eyeball. i have seen it done and i have seen blinding, and horrendous infections that lead to blindness...not worth it.

Ditto. Some spots are pretty bad. But the pain is cathartic in some ways. Also how much detail, color and shading are required.
