Society still sees embracing one's sexuality as a sign of lacking self-respect or boundaries, or being a slut. In reality, there is no reason to be ashamed of one's sexuality, yet our world constantly over-sexualizes situations and things, such as clothing being a significant way of determining whether or not a woman wishes to engage in any sexual activities. Engaging in any BDSM is seen as taboo and obscene. Those who identify as submissive in the bedroom are seen as insecure or weak, while those who take the dominant role are seen as controlling or harsh. These are two stereotypes that can be very misleading. As a society, we are so afraid to embrace and acknowledge our sexuality and that of others, so we shame it, diminish it, and make it seem taboo all on its own to enjoy anything sexually or to be confident in the bedroom.
