On Inauguration Day, I Will Stand

On Inauguration Day I will Stand

I will defy lightning to strike me
Looking heavenward
Asking How?
Asking Why?

I will look Heavenward
And I will stand
With Women
With Muslims
With Mexicans
With Disabled Reporters
With duped Voters
With Scientists
With the Ethical Elected
With Families of the Fallen
With any Citizen who expresses their right to free speech
With Republicans who oppose this tyrant
With Democrats rebuilding
With Black Lives Matter
With Your Life that Matters. One is not minimized by embracing the other.
With Americans everywhere whose allure in reality TV becomes a lesson learned in lessons learned. And oh, we will learn hard, those lessons.
With Children who deserve so much better
With those who wish for respectful discourse.

On Inauguration Day I Will Stand
Defying Lightning to Strike
There may be tears in my eyes
But I will stand

And I will look forward
Looking Heavenward
To the Sun breaking through
One mind, one voter at a time.

On Inauguration Day I Will Stand.
With Millions.

Who will stand for Christians?
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
Why ask me? This post has nothing todo with that. I assume many of the people he has attracted are Christians, and many he has repulsed are too.

Go ask him. Not me
olderguy2016 · 70-79, M
@CassandraFemale17: Asked you, since you post a public post. There is no need to ask him. Your post seems like a racist post, not like a post for citizens of America. In your post you ignore Chritians,so I asked such a question.
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@olderguy2016: lmao.

I think I have embraced races within it. Not at all what you said.
Many of the listed would be Christians right? Do I have to mention Jewish, Buddhist etc to satisfy you?

Very childlike thinking.

The list encompasses only Some of the groups Trump pointedly offended using his own words. He hadn't mentioned ostracizing Christians so there was not need to mention it. He hadn't insulted people over 90 either. According to your logic, I should have mentioned those too.

.
@CassandraFemale17: Trump did argue with the Pope

But, Hillary did say she didn't want the Roman Catholic vote

... maybe it cancels out
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@olderguy2016:

I have to mention Christians in every post I make?

Trump had not put down Christians. The list was those people he HAD put down. I was saying I will stand with those groups, as he put them down. Standing with someone in solidarity when they have been ostracized, does not mean I do not relate or would not stand with those not ostracized.

You are spinning this to a really weird place.
olderguy2016 · 70-79, M
@CassandraFemale17: Mr. Trump.Said some truth.
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@olderguy2016: absolutely he has said some truths. No doubt about it. And his message has resonated with millions, and has not resonated with 2,900,000 more people.

He isn't the Devil.
He has said a lot of common sense things.
That doesn't mean I agree with his whole platform, nor does it mean I reject all he has said.

But he has said some other things which makes him seem unbalanced, and downright scary to many people, myself included.

He doesn't have to please me, and I don't have to be pleased by him. That's ok
Cassandra ... not a challenge ... but Hillary made two, now famous statements ...

1 statement ... that she did not want the deplorable vote

1 statement on, July 27th, that Americans will have to change their religious convictions and cultural codes so they can pass laws.

Both weighed heavy on the voters.

The second echoed through the Christian community churches ... this may explain why Trump's share of hispanic vote rose so much, in comparison to the prior elections. (60% of hispanic Catholics voted for Trump ... up 3%)

Coupled with Hillary's statements against Roman Catholics ... led many to believe that Christianity was not compatible with her platform.

So, the absence of standing with Christians ... might imply Christianity has been diminished.

But ... if you add ... standing with Christians ... that would imply standing with Trump supporters ... since 81% of Christian evangelicals voted for Trump.

So ... standing with Christians ... mathematically means you are standing with Trump supporters.

@CassandraFemale17: He replied all things in the same coin. Muslims want to have Sharia law for them and want to discard civil law and liberty.Mrs.Clinton want to make amendment to us law to give effect to Shariat law.World terrorism is now in the hands of Muslims.so he attacked them. Will arab countries allow other religion to survive in their country?
He attacked China too
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@questionWeaver:

you are quite right. Hillary made some massive blunders. I have never said she didn't.
olderguy2016 · 70-79, M
@CassandraFemale17: Hillar to lure muslim vote ,spoke against christians
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@olderguy2016:

Hillar? I think you mean Hillary. For a moment I thought you meant Hitler. Hillary said many things. Some great. Some not great at all. Some dumb.

The fact I am afraid for the future, and consider Trump unhinged, doesn't make me a Hillary lover.

Those two points of view CAN co-exist. But the maturity level of the so called 'adults' posting here means I am to be cornered into defending something I don't believe in?

Grow up. I won't.
@CassandraFemale17: Yes ... at the time, I was amazed ... but did not see how deeply her statements split the electorate.

Now, we can see Hillary opened the age-old "urban vs non-urban" conflict ... just like Europe in the middle ages

For example ... Trump won just about all the Pennsylvania counties, most by a lot, the few lost were by small margins ... except Philly ... there 550,000 votes, 85% went to Hillary.

PA was a classic urban vs non-urban split.

Traditionally, cities mock the suburbs/rural living ... this time the suburbs/rural won ... and won big.

50% of Hillarys vote came from just 5 cities ... the rest in the next 78 cities ... the most geographically split vote since the Civil War.

Hillary's statements were the two things that triggered the wave.
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@questionWeaver: the Democrats have much to do if they want to regain not only the White House, but Congress as well.

You are quite right in what you said.

Other interesting stats show Hillary won less than 500 Counties nationwide.
Trump won more than 2,600.

There is evidence however that in 27 GOP led States that many voters were supposedly suppressed.

Whether or not that is the case, the Democrats need a lot of grass roots repairing to advance their own causes. Both Obama and Bill Clinton had advised her campaign to do more in some areas. They were ignored. They turned out to be 100% correct.

As are you, in your assessment.
Yes ... Hillarys message was for city consumption ... and cities are shrinking ... in 2020, the GOP picks up 9 more electoral votes, as the influence of CA, IL and NY shrinks ... and Texas adds 3.

Unfortunately ... topics like racism and sanctuary cities are something cities get all excited about ... but nobody else sees ... it just is not part of their daily life.

In middle America Kansas, they want somebody supporting police, talking jobs and stopping the EPA from delaying every mall project over stormwater. ... Mexican rights never come up. Climate change is not even top 20.

They aren't deniers or racists ... just regular folks.

Hillary should have listened to Bill and President Obama ... and talked to the regular folks more.

Have a nice evening!
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@questionWeaver: you too. And thank you for being able to have a civil discussion without attacking.

Hillary won California by more than 4,000,000 votes. That is sad really as when you subtract that from her final pop votes, she would have lost.

There is something to be said for the founders creating the Electoral College. Why should such an overage in just one state carry the whole country for her?

Again, much to learn, much to do. .

Just because I am not in love with Trump, does not mean I AM in love with Hillary.

None of them talked about my issue. Reducing the National debt! That person would have had my vote had they existed!

And again, thank you for chatting respectfully
