Your pix remind me of the photos of the beatnik poet and writers of the 1950's....i.e, the writer,Jack Kerouac. One of my older kin lived in San Francisco, the North Beach area during that time. The stories she can tell about the era had me and my sibs riveted. By the time she was done we were ready to wear berets, write existential poems, play bongos, and drink unending Italian espresso and chain smoke non-filtered cigarettes. What an exciting time it was in America to break with traditions and revel in a wacky yet extremely creative culture.
