Has anyone else had 90% of the greetings they've sent through PM ignored?

If someone messages me out of the blue, and I can't relate to his posts, then I will most probably ignore. If you don't want to be ignored try commenting on their posts etc. If you think there is a vibe, then PM. Then, chances are that they will respond

I see if they have things in common, and then message "Hey! How are you? What brings you to Similar Worlds?"

But you see, they haven't seen anything in common with you. Maybe you could tell them about some particular post of theirs and say what you thought about it or share a similar experience or something. That will interest them and make your message stand out from the many similar messages they receive often

@dreamerfrombirth: Well, there are a lot of "musicians" and science fans on here, yet when I point out I have the second highest piano qualification in Europe, and that I work with an ambulance service, 9/10 they don't care or respond, and instead post about their favourite type of jam and how they wish they could have a conversation with someone with similar interests.
