I think I compare myself to others around me, but not too narrowly. Suppose I want to be rich, I wouldn't think of Bill Gates but I wouldn't think of the poorest people I know either. That way my goals are achievable but still above me

basically like comparing yourself to others. Do you compare yourself to the people around you or do you compare yourself to everyone and how does that affect you? Like would you call yourself good at something because you are better than the people around you or because you are better than the average person at it? To use another example.

@mic11225: I only compare myself to others when it comes to my profession in graphic design you kinda always need to be the best or close to it.
